Ted Dunagan visited November 10, 2010 Mr. Dunagan visited 4th and 5th grade. He read to us from his books Yellow Watermelon and Secret of the Satilfa. Mr. Dunagan told us a lot about writing and how he came up with the ideas for his books. He has finished the 3rd book and is already planning the 4th. All of the books are about two boys, Ted and Poudlum. She displayed her beautiful photographs of Africa and read us one of her books. She showed us her sloppy copies of some of her published books and had a lot of artifacts she has collected over the years. We all loved looking at the wonderful things. She signed books and bookmarks for us. Everyone had a great time. She told us fascinating stories and facts about the Calusa tribe and life long ago. Her books FLEW off the shelf after her book talks! Then, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday she went to each 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classroom to teach a wonderful writing lesson! Pre-K - 2nd grade enjoyed shows all morning and we all loved learning the swamp stomp!
