Two-Year Media Plan
  • This Two-Year Plan was developed as part of coursework in MEDT 6466 to show the development of a plan to promote a media center over a two year period.
  • The plan shows that I am aware of major trends in reading materials for children and youth. I chose materials in multiple formats to address the needs and interests of diverse young readers and learners. The programs chosen implement a variety of strategies to promote leisure reading. These attributes reflect the AASL Standard 1.2, Literacy and Learning.
  • The programs in the Two-Year Plan create a stimulating learning environment by establishing and maintaining a positive educational climate in the media center. This is an expression of the AASL Standard 1.4, Stimulating Learning Environment.
  • The program allows for me to continually improve my knowledge, disposition and skills. The covers the UWG CoE Conceptual Framework of Life-Long Learners.
  • The plan allows me to be adaptive in that I am able to demonstrate flexibility and strategic planning appropriate to a wide variety of learners. Adaptive is part of the UWG CoE Conceptual Framework.
  • The plan reflects cultural sensitivity because it covers many diverse groups and takes into consideration individual and group differences. Culturally Sensitive is part of the UWG CoE Conceptual Framework.
  • The plan also show empathy because the plan show sensitivity for individual, family and institutional needs. Empathetic is one of the UWG
    Coe Conceptual Framework components.
