School-Wide Plan
  • The School-Wide Plan was developed as part of the coursework for MEDT 6466.
  • The School-Wide plan focused on the activities and events in the media center and reflected the learner's needs, interests as well as instructional methodologies as an integral part of information skills instruction. The plan supports the learning of all students and other members of the learning community, including those with diverse learning styles, abilities and needs. Information skills instruction is based on student interests and learning needs and is linked to student achievement. This supports the AASL Standard 2.1 Knowledge of the Learner.
  • The AASL Standard 2.2, Effective and Knowledgeable Teacher is supported by this school-wide plan. The plan demonstrates how I work with classroom teachers to co-plan, co-teach, and co-assess information skills instruction. As variety of instructional strategies and assessment tools were utilized. The activities and instruction were developed with student interest and motivation in mind.
  • While developing the school-wide plan, I developed many of the traits of the UWG CoE Conceptual Framework. The plan demonstrated that I am Adaptive. I showed flexibility and strategic planning appropriate for a wide range of learners. I showed the Collaborative trait since the plan showed my ability to work effectively with various stakeholders. The plan was Culturally Sensitive. I showed an awareness and understanding of individual and group differences as I developed this plan. The trait, Empathetic was shown through the sensitivity for individual, family, and institutional needs. The plan showed that I am Knowledgeable of curriculum content areas. Finally, through the plan I was able to be Reflective. Because of its scope, I demonstrated critical thinking skills.
