- This presentation was developed as part of coursework in MEDT 6464 to help students and teachers locate information on specific topics. It was intended to motivate students and introduce them to the materials they would need for a unit of study.
- The Pathfinder helps students locate and use information for a specific purpose. This supports AASL Standard 1.1, Efficient and Ethical Information Seeking Behavior.
- The pathfinder is intended to be shared with students so that they may flexible and open access the media center materials. The pathfinder also allows students access to print, non-print, and electronic formats. All were covered in the presentation. This supports AASL Standard 1.3, Access to Information.
- As a result of complete the pathfinder project, I had an in-depth knowledge of the 4th grade curriculum. I also explored other areas and grade levels before making a decision to use the topic chosen. Because the Pathfinder allowed me to present many aspects of the topic, I was able to give students many different ways to find information and thus remove some barriers to learning. These support the UWG COE Conceptual Framework descriptors of Knowledge and Proactive.
